ASEAN Energy Business Forum Will Meet Business And Energy Industry Actors

JAKARTA - The ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE) again held the ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) on August 24-26, 2023 on the island of Bali. This event was held to support efforts to accelerate energy connections for the growth of the energy sector by bringing together business people in the energy sector.

Executive Director of ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE) Nuki Agya Utama said the event, which took the theme "Accelerated Energy Connectivity to Achieve ASEAN Sustainable Growth", is in line with Indonesia's vision of making ASEAN the center of regional and world economic growth.

"AEBF functions as an important platform in ASEAN to become a forum for exchanging ideas and doing the best practices while trying to provide Indonesia's efforts and potential in the energy sector," said Nuki in a media briefing in Jakarta, Thursday, July 27.

Nuki explained that ASEAN member countries must continue to improve the investment ecosystem and make the transitional priorities in their respective countries and in the region so that energy resilience is realized.

In addition, Nuki continued, theenegri transition is not only carried out through the policy sector but also needs to be encouraged from the community level. In addition, a sustainable energy transition in ASEAN also requires large funds. For this reason, he said, large-scale innovative financing analysts are needed starting from public and private financing sources, dialogue and follow-up actions between institutional investors, multilateral development banks, other financing institutions and industry.

Meanwhile, ACE Department Manager of Corporate Affairs, Andy Tirta, said that in this Forum his party prepared various interesting event series such as Green Transport Rally, inviting experts from countries such as Russian gas companies and other major countries such as America, Japan and China.

"From our study in the future, ASEAN will need natural gas and buses in the future, Indonesia can become one of the countries partnering with them so that it can support Indonesia's energy security," said Andy.

Through this event, business people can cooperate with each other through Business Matching which is expected to become a business opportunity.

"From the results of our study, 80 percent of infrastructure in the capital energy sector is from private sectors. So our strength through private sectors can be firmly established," Andy continued.

Not only that, said Andy, AEBF will also accelerate the awarding of ASEAN energy awards to recognize the contribution of industry players in the energy sector.

"This award ceremony was enlivened by 10 ASEAN Ministers of Energy," Andy concluded.
