Inaugurated As Deputy Minister, Rosan Roeslani Visits The Office Of The Ministry Of SOEs

JAKARTA - Rosan Perkasa Roeslani after being inaugurated as Deputy Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), immediately visited his new office this morning.

Rosan arrived at the BUMN Ministry office with his wife, Ayu Heni at around 10.18 WIB. He said he would meet with SOE Minister Erick Thohir this morning to discuss his assignment.

"Waiting to meet the Minister first, what will his direction look like," said Rosan to the media crew, at the BUMN Ministry office, Monday, July 17.

Previously, Rosan was appointed Deputy Minister of BUMN II. Meanwhile, the position of Deputy Minister of BUMN I, previously held by Pahala Mansury, was filled by Kartika Wirjoatmodjo. As for Kartika previously served as Deputy Minister of BUMN II.

The task of the Deputy Minister of SOEs I is to coordinate SOEs engaged in pharmaceutical, mining, and energy including PT Pertamina (Persero), PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN, and so on.

Meanwhile, the task of the Deputy Minister of SOEs II is to coordinate SOEs in the fields of banking, insurance, plantations, construction, and transportation, such as PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, PT Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN), PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, and so on.

SOE Minister Erick Thohir said the direction of the transformation of the Ministry of SOEs would also continue with the presence of Rosan Roeslani who now serves as Deputy Minister of BUMN II and Mr. Kartika Wirjoatmodjo as Deputy Minister of BUMN I.

Mr. Rosan Roeslani no longer needs to be questioned about his credibility and capability. He has experience as a banker, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States so that he is expected to encourage the big strategy of SOEs so that more SOEs in various sectors are able to take part as global players," said Erick.

Erick believes that Rosan in the industrial sector until his last position as US Ambassador will provide a new color in an effort to transform SOEs in the future.

"Welcome, Mr. Rosan Roeslani, who has a classy work in the international community, both as entrepreneurs and diplomats. We hope that this will further strengthen BUMN's efforts to go global," said Erick.
