JAKARTA - Chairman of the Central Java Pertashop Entrepreneurs Association-DIY Gunadi Broto Sudarmo asked the government to immediately inaugurate the revision of Presidential Regulation 191 of 2014 so that restrictions on the purchase of subsidized fuel oil (BBM) can be implemented immediately.

According to him, the inauguration of this presidential regulation can reduce the number of retailers who sell subsidized fuel illegally.

"With the price disparity, with our request for evaluation or monitoring regarding the distribution of pertalite in retailers, please immediately ratify the revision of Presidential Regulation 191/2014 because until now there has been no detailed provision regarding Pertalite," said Broto in a hearing with Commission VII, Monday 10 July.

Broto added that the rise of Pertamina has caused Pertashop entrepreneurs to suffer heavy losses.

Unlike diesel, pertalite type fuel does not yet have the criteria for buyers who have the right to consume this subsidized fuel so that there are still many people who are not entitled to consume pertalite.

"There are still many who don't actually use Pertalite, such as red plates, BUMN, BUMD, TNI/Polro, but it turns out that they are still found using the pertalite type bbm," explained Broto.

In addition to proliferating pertamina, another factor that causes Pertashop to suffer losses is the high price disparity between subsidized and non-subsidized fuels so that many switch to using Pertalite.

The soaring price of oil has caused the government to also increase the price of Pertamax and Dexlite fuel types.

He said, from January to March 2022, the distribution of samples taken from one of Pertashop only managed to sell 34,000 to 38,000 liters in one month.

In fact, he continued, Pertamax is still priced at IDR 9,000 per liter.

"However, after the disparity of Pertamax and Pertalite prices, starting April the turnover dropped drastically. At a price of Rp. 12,500, 16,000 liters per month, there continued to be price fluctuations of up to Rp. 14500 per liter, some Rp. 13,900. And until now at the price of Rp. 12,500, the turnover pertashop has not been able to return as at the time of Pertamax price of Rp. 9,000 and Pertalite Rp. 6,750," explained Gunadi.

With this price disparity, Gunadi continued, entrepreneur turnover also experienced a drastic decline of up to 90 percent.

"Entrepreneurs do not have any benefits at all," he said.

Of the 448 Pertashop, 201 of them suffered losses and threatened to close and their assets were confiscated because they were unable to pay monthly installments to the bank concerned.
