Support IKN, Ministry Of PUPR Opens Opportunities To Germany Regarding Technology Cooperation

The meeting with the German Construction Delegations discussed the potential for cooperation in the development of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago in East Kalimantan.

Basuki said that the Indonesian government through the Ministry of PUPR is very open to investors to explore the cooperation of various infrastructure sectors in IKN Nusantara through the Government Cooperation with Business Entities (KPBU) scheme.

"President Joko Widodo has offered an IKN project with full potential for investment with a public private partnership scheme in the construction of buildings, housing, hospitals, commercial centers, and others," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, June 13.

On this occasion, Basuki also conveyed the possibility of cooperation with businessmen from Germany regarding the use of technological innovations that prioritize environmental sustainability to be implemented in supporting IKN development.

"Because the geo conditions are very specific, the condition of the ground. Maybe you have technology that can be used to support us. We also have to know that you have geotech experts, so we can discuss in detail," he said.

Furthermore, said Basuki, his party has started the construction of basic infrastructure in IKN since early September 2022, including the construction of toll roads and national roads, the provision of raw water, flood control infrastructure, houses for IKN construction workers, and the ministerial official residence.

In addition, Basuki also expressed his appreciation for the cooperation between the Government of Indonesia and Germany in the construction of sanitation infrastructure, namely the Final Processing Site (TPA) through the Emission Reduction in Cities 'Solid Waste Management (ERIC-SWM) Program spread across Malang City, Jambi City, Sidoarjo Regency, and Jombang Regency.
