KCIC Continues To Prepare For The Operation Of Fast Trains, Trial Of The Capai 220 Km Inspeksi Train Per Hour

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia-China (KCIC) continues to prepare for the operation of the Jakarta-Bandung High Speed Train (KCJB).

Most recently, KCIC reported that the comprehensive inspection train (CIT) or inspection train on the KCJB route had exceeded 220 km per hour.

The KCJB Inspection Train is a means used by KCIC to check the electricity network, signaling, communication, and conditions of the Fast Train line.

This Inspection Train has the characteristics of a yellow train body.

This train has a length of 208 meters consisting of 8 trains. The function of each train is four trains for the inspection room, 2 trains for the work room, 1 train for the meeting room, and 1 train for restoration.

"Currently, the speed of the Inspection Train on the KCJB line has exceeded 220 km per hour. This is a new history for railways in Indonesia that will soon have high speed trains," said KCIC Corporate Communication Manager Emir Monti, in an official statement, Tuesday, June 13.

Emir said KCIC together with all stakeholders continued to make various preparations in order to welcome the operation of KCJB in August 2023.

In addition to improving infrastructure for increasing the pace of fast trains, in parallel the certification process is also prepared together with the Ministry of Transportation.

KCIC, continued Emir, is currently focusing on overseeing and evaluating the implementation of KCJB testing and commissioning internally carried out by KCJB Contractors.

"Through the CIT or Inspection Train, all KCJB facilities and infrastructure parameters can be detected during the testing process," he explained.

Emir explained that the testing was carried out regularly on the route from Tegalluar Station, Padalarang Station, Karawang Station, and Halim Station.

The Inspection Train at the time of testing will also continue to increase its speed gradually until it reaches its technical speed peak at 385 km per hour.

Emir said, in parallel to the tests carried out by contractors, KCIC also continues to coordinate with the Directorate General of Railways of the Ministry of Transportation to prepare for the KCJB operation permit.

Currently, a focus group discussion is being carried out between KCIC, KCJB Contractors, the Ministry of Transportation, and other related parties for three days in Bandung.

The meeting was to discuss testing preparations and collect various data and documents needed to complete the requirements set by the Ministry of Transportation.

"We, with the Ministry of Transportation, are currently preparing the first test of the feasibility of KCJB facilities and infrastructure as part of the stages to obtain an operating permit. KCIC will comply and fully follow the regulations set by the Ministry of Transportation," he said.
