JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) (Hutama Karya) has won the trust of a new project for construction work for the Jakarta Sewerage Development Project Zone 1 Package 6 (Area 2-2) in DKI Jakarta.
For the work on this project, Hutama Karya collaborated with PT Adhi Karya (Persero) Tbk. through KSO Adhi-Hutama, with a portion of Hutama Karya 49 percent and Adhi Karya 51 percent. Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary Hutama Karya Tjahjo Purnomo stated, in this project worth Rp620,772 billion, a wastewater pipeline network will be built that can improve the quality and quantity of sanitation that is feasible and sustainable for the people in North Jakarta and West Jakarta areas.
The long-term benefits of the presence of a waste water pipeline network in DKI Jakarta Province can reduce environmental pollution caused by household wastewater which has been dumped directly into the environment, such as into rivers, so that it can improve the quality of a clean and healthy environment.
"Through the service of the centralized sanitation system (off site sanitation) and the local sanitation system (on-site sanitation), the construction work of this waste water pipeline will accommodate areas that are not affordable and there is no good wastewater management for the surrounding community, in North Jakarta and West Jakarta areas," Tjahjo said in his official statement, quoted Friday, May 12.
Tjahjo explained, in this project, Hutama Karya is responsible for pipeline installation work, vertical shaft construction (where the shares are a continuous hole between one floor and the other for vertically placing utility pipelines), preprint manhole construction, repavement work (affected road repavement) and work on the Work Safety & Work Health Management System (SMKK), with a target of completion by the end of 2026.
"In its construction, a number of effective work methods will be applied, such as the use of a jacking pipe method that allows pipeline installation without having to open a trend, thereby minimizing damage to existing environments and infrastructure," he said.

"This method also minimizes disturbances for the surrounding community and businesses operating around project sites because they do not need trends," added Tjahjo.
Furthermore, said Tjahjo, Hutama Karya is committed to completing the work with the right quality, right cost, and on time with zero accidents.
The results of work can also be of maximum benefit to the community with the hope that in the future Hutama Karya can get similar projects, both in DKI Jakarta and other parts of Indonesia.
"With a wastewater Processing (IPAL) installation area of 3.9 Ha and an IPAL capacity of 240,000 m3/day, it will accommodate wastewater disposal for 989.389 people there," he concluded.
