D+2 Lebaran 2023, Jasa Marga Records 487 Thousand Vehicles Back To Jabotabek

PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk recorded 487,986 vehicles returning to the Jabotabek area from D+1 to D+2 Lebaran 2023 which fell on Monday-Tuesday (24-25 April 2023).

This figure is the cumulative number of traffic flows (traffic) from the four Main Toll Gates (GT), namely GT Cikupa (from Merak), GT Ciawi (from Puncak), and GT Cikampek Utama (from the direction of Trans Java) and GT Kalihurip Utama (from the direction of Bandung).

Corporate Communication & Community Development Group Head of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk Lisye Octaviana said the total volume of traffic returning to the Jabotabek area increased by 88.9 percent when compared to normal traffic with a total of 258,360 vehicles.

"When compared to the Lebaran 2022 period, this total traffic volume increased by 17.0 percent with a total of 416,961 vehicles," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, April 26.

Meanwhile, continued Lisye, when compared to the prediction of the 2023 Eid traffic volume in the same period, the total traffic volume was 8.7 percent lower with a total of 534,317 vehicles.

For the distribution of traffic back to Jabotabek from three directions, namely the majority of 290,755 vehicles (59.6 percent) from the East (Trans Java and Bandung), 104,917 vehicles (21.5 percent) from the West (Merak), and 92,314 vehicles (18.9 percent) from the South (Puncak).

The details of the traffic distribution are as follows:

East (Trans Java and Bandung) direction

Traffic returning to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java via GT Cikampek Utama Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road, with a total of 171,101 vehicles, an increase of 217.4 percent from normal traffic.

Then, Lalin returned to Jabotabek from Bandung via GT Kalihurip Utama Cipularang Toll Road, with a total of 119,654 vehicles, an increase of 110.5 percent from normal traffic.

"The total traffic returning to Jabotabek from the direction of Trans Java and Bandung through the two GTs is 290,755 vehicles, an increase of 162.5 percent from normal traffic," said Lisye.

West (Merak) direction

Traffic returning to Jabotabek from Merak via GT Cikupa Tangerang-Merak Toll Road was 104,917 vehicles, an increase of 17.3 percent from normal traffic.

South (Puncak) direction

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek from Puncak via GT Ciawi Jagorawi Toll Road was 92,314 vehicles, an increase of 58.7 percent from normal traffic.

"The number of vehicles returning to Jabotabek has only reached 30.45 percent of the prediction of backflow of 1.6 million vehicles in the period H + 1 to D + 7 of Eid Al-Fitr 1444 H," he said.

Furthermore, Lisye said that to serve the high volume of vehicles on the backflow, Jasa Marga will support the implementation of traffic engineering plans and regulation of goods transport traffic whose implementation schedule has been extended through a Joint Decree (SKB) of the Director General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation and the National Police Headquarters.

"We are advised road users to ensure the adequacy of e-toll balances to avoid queues at toll gates. In addition, road users are also advised to ensure that the condition of the vehicle and its drivers is in prime condition," he said.
