After The Storage Tank Fire, Pertagas Banyuasin Booster Station KM 77 Is Back In Operation

JAKARTA - Pertagas, Pertamina Gas Subholding confirmed that it has operated the KM 77 Booster Station which had experienced a fire on Sunday, April 16.

Pertagas Communication, Relations & CSR Manager, Imam Rismanto ensured that his party had carried out the HSSE mitigation process for blackouts and security that occurred in slop tanks in the Banyuasin KM 77 Booster Station area.

"After checking and going through various stages of safety, we will reactivate the pump so that the distribution of oil to consumers can return to normal conditions," said Imam to the media, Monday, April 17.

Imam added that the fire was extinguished using a fire pump, foam chamber, and fire truck available at the location. The quick reaction of all units on duty at the time of the incident is a sign of the alertness and professionalism of Pertagas officers.

All units and facilities used for blackouts also work properly, as they should.

There were no injuries or fatalities when the fire occurred.

Currently, Pertagas is focusing on restoring post-incident operating facilities.

"The burnt slope tank is storage for remaining operational oil and is not a distribution storage. In addition, the KM 77 Booster Station is a collection station so it does not have a significant impact on the process of distributing crude oil to consumers," said Imam.

Pertagas operates the Tempino-Plaju pipeline with an 8-inch diameter and a length of 262 KM to transport crude oil to various consumers in South Sumatra.

Throughout the first quarter of 2023, Pertagas has managed to flow 15,717 BOPD of crude oil.
