Lebaran 2023, Angkasa Pura I Records Extra Flight Request Reaches 1,287 Flights

PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) noted that it had received 1,287 requests for additional assistance or extra flights from a number of airlines during the Eid 2023 transportation period.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I, Faik Fahmi, said the data was calculated until Monday, April 10. However, said Faik, this number will still increase along with the needs of the people who will travel back and forth.

Furthermore, Faik explained, the addition was proposed by 11 Airlines at seven AP I airports which included Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali), Juanda Airport (Surabaya), and Yogyakarta International Airport or YIA (Yogyakarta).

Then, Sultan Hasanuddin Airport (Makassar), Syamsudin Noor Airport (South Kalimantan), Adi Soemarmo Airport (Solo), and Ahmad Yani Airport (Semarang).

"The three destinations with the most extra flights are Denpasar, Surabaya and Makassar," he told reporters, written Thursday, April 13.

Faik said the additional flight submission was also followed by an increase in seat capacity of 231,000 seats. This amount is outside the availability of regular seats that have been provided.

"So, we continue to coordinate with all Airline stakeholders, to ensure to accommodate what is their need," he said.

On the service side, said Faik, all AP I airports will operate 24 hours during the Eid 2023 Eid homecoming period. This is due to the limited number of Airlines aircraft operating at the 2023 Eid homecoming.

"So this is indeed below the need, from the demand and supply side this is a problem. The point is that from all existing airports, we are flexible to be able to serve 24 hours," he said.

Furthermore, Faik hopes that with this flexibility, the number of aircraft being flown will increase despite the decline in aircraft.

"It is hoped that it will still accommodate the increasing number of passenger requests," he said.
