Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD is known to include the Financial Services Authority (OJK) to participate in handling suspicious financial transactions or alleged money laundering of IDR 349 trillion related to the Ministry of Finance.

This also marks the work of the National Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU Committee).

"I am the Chair of the Committee. This meeting was attended by the Coordinating Minister for the Economy (Airlangga Hartarto) as vice chairman, the Minister of Finance as a member, the Minister of Law and Human Rights as members, and the Head of PPATK as well as the Chairman of the OJK as members of the committee and also echelon I officials in ministries/agencies who are members of the TPPU Committee," he said during a press conference on Monday, April 10.

Mahfud explained that this meeting was the fifth meeting held by the Committee, both at the steering and executive levels.

"This is a follow-up after the Chairman of the Committee and the Head of PPATK held a meeting with Commission III of the DPR on March 29, 2023 and a meeting of the Minister of Finance with Commission XI of the DPR RI on March 27, 2023," he said.

According to Mahfud, the data submitted so far is the same. The discrepancies in numbers that arise only come from different interpretations of each party.

"There is no difference in the data between what was conveyed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs as Chairman of the Committee at Commission III of the DPR on March 29, 2023, and what was conveyed by the Minister of Finance at Commission XI of the DPR on March 27, 2023 because the data source submitted was the same, namely the PPATK Analysis Results Data (LHA) for 2009-2023," he said.

For this reason, Mahfud and his team will try to solve this problem in stages by determining the work priority scale.

The Joint Team/Satgas will involve PPATK, Directorate General of Taxes, Directorate General of Customs and Excise, Bareskrim Polri, Pidsus AGO, OJK Supervision Division, BIN, and the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. The committee will carry out case building by prioritizing the LHP with the greatest value because it has become a public concern. Starting with LHP worth an aggregate of IDR 189 trillion," he said.
