Pertamina International Shipping Prepares 302 Ships To Maintain Fuel And LPG Supply During Eid 2023

PT Pertamina International Shipping (PIS) will deploy 302 ships to guard and maintain the smooth distribution of fuel oil and LPG throughout Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr.

PIS Muh's Corporate Secretary. Aryomekka Firdaus said, as many as 272 PIS ships were operated to ensure the smooth distribution of domestic energy, and 24 international vessels were of course for supplies from abroad.

"Of the 272 domestic ships, 173 were used to transport fuel, 39 gas, 27 crude or crude products, and the rest were for avtur, naphta, asphalt, and others," Aryomekka told the media, Monday, April 10.

He added that PIS has formed a task force and prepared hundreds of ships to ensure the smooth availability of national energy.

PIS is committed to maintaining the security of fuel supply with sustainable operations, all PIS officers and women are ready to carry out their duties throughout Ramadan to Eid al-Fitr. PIS also ensures that it still prioritizes the safety and security of the officers and women who serve as task forces," continued Aryomekka.

PIS also ensures that it monitors the distribution of fuel and LPG regularly. Starting from monitoring all depots in terms of stock conditions, DOT, coverage days as well as ship positions and conditions, and coordinating with all relevant parties to mitigate and anticipate a surge in demand at a terminal.

In terms of ship readiness, monitoring is carried out digitally with PIS applications and technology to detect developments in the situation, anticipating an emergency condition and other risks that are monitored in one digital dashboard, namely Digital Fleet Workspace (DIGIFORCE).

As an anticipatory measure, PIS is also preparing additional ships to anticipate an increase in demand for stock security during the task force period if needed.

"Coordination also continues to be carried out centrally at the Pertamina Task Force Post and independently with relevant government agencies ranging from port officers, customs, and other licensing so that ship operations remain smooth," he concluded.
