PALANGKARAYA - Head of Bank Indonesia Representative of Central Kalimantan (BI Kalteng) Taufik Saleh suggested that the distribution of holiday allowances (THR) be carried out through non-cash transactions.

"In principle, hopefully this year's Eid al-Fitr THR will be distributed by workers on time. It's good to do it by transfer to an account even though in cash it is not prohibited," Taufik said as quoted by Antara, Thursday, April 6.

Non-cash THR distribution will be safer and more practical. Especially with the digital lifestyle of the people, the government also encourages reducing cash transactions.

On the other hand, the public is also expected to be able to distribute holiday allowances non-cash. In addition, through banking, many digital applications or wallets are providers of digital financial facilities or e-Money.

Moreover, currently, there are also many traders who provide non-cash payment services either through QRIS, Ovo, gopay, shopee pay and so on.

Meanwhile, during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijri, Central Kalimantan BI prepared Rp2.5 trillion in cash to meet the needs of community denominations.

"This year we are promoting the activity of the 'Reven Rupiah Ramadan and Blessings of Eid Al-Fitr' in Serambi 2023. Through mobile cash services with all banks we have prepared Rp2.5 trillion," said Taufik Saleh.

At the currency exchange service, BI together with all banks in Central Kalimantan have prepared 47 points or locations spread across 13 districts and one city in Central Kalimantan.

He also asked banks in the local province to renew money in the Independent Cash Machine (ATM).

The goal is to make the banknotes circulating in the community more qualified.

He also invited the public to always be careful in accepting or spending money to avoid the circulation of counterfeit money during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr.

The trick is to always apply the 3D pattern or look at it, touch it, and look at it.
