Member Of Commission VII DPR Urges Jokowi To Reshuffle Officials Of The Directorate General Of Mineral And Coal

Member of Commission VII DPR RI Mulyanto asked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to reshuffle officials at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), especially at the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal (Ditjen Minerba). The reason is that there are allegations of corruption in the agency.

"The Directorate General of Mineral and Coal needs to be reshuffled and reorganized by its officials. Because the performance of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal has been unsatisfactory because many jobs have been neglected to date. Even then, if the government is serious about improving the performance of national mineral and coal development," Mulyanto told the media quoted on Friday, March 31.

Mulyanto also highlighted the Director General of Mineral and Coal, Ridwan Djamaluddin, who is currently the Acting Governor of Babel.

"So it's only natural that the performance of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal is weak and cohesive, because the bureaucratic reform has not materialized," continued Mulyanto.

Seeing the many arrears in the work of the Directorate General of Mineral and Coal like that, Mulyanto asked President Jokowi to immediately take a firm stance. This decision is very necessary so that Indonesia's natural resource management is not neglected.

Mulyanto also mentioned that President Jokowi's downstream mineral program, both nickel, bauxite, copper, tin, and coal that President Jokowi echoed could only be limited to discourse if the conditions and performance of the apparatus were like that. So that the implementation is quite difficult.

"For example, the coal Gasification Project has become a DME for import LPG substitution, which was inaugurated by President Jokowi, in fact, left by US investors. This national strategic project could be threatened with failure," he added.

Not to mention, continued Mulyanto, the serious problem that is still related to the performance of mineral and coal management is the matter of solving the illegal mining problem and its alleged defenders are officers. The formation of an illegal mining task force is actually still stagnant today.

The establishment of the Public Service Agency (BLU) related to coal DMO is also still running on the spot. "Even though this institution is important so that PLN gets coal supply guarantees more smoothly according to the DMO quota (Domestic Market Obligation) and the price of DPO (Domestic Price Obligation)," concluded Mulyanto.
