Free Worker Gets THR For Eid 2023, Here's The Calculation Of The Amount

JAKARTA - Minister of Manpower (Menaker) Ida Fauziyah said freelancers or freelancers are a group of workers who also receive holiday allowances or THR Lebaran 2023.

"I underline, including freelance workers or laborers who meet the requirements in accordance with statutory regulations," he said in a virtual press conference, Tuesday, March 28.

Then, what is the calculation of the THR amount of the freelancer?

Ida said the freelancer with a working period of one year or more calculation of his THR based on the average wage received in the last 12 months before the Day of Religion.

"Then what about casual daily workers whose working period is less than 12 months? For such workers, calculate based on the average wage received every month during the tenure," said Ida.

This rule is contained in the Minister of Manpower Regulation (Permenaker) Number 6 of 2016 concerning Religious Holiday Allowances for Workers/Labourers in Companies.

The following is the calculation of THR:

Aziza is a freelancer. He worked as a graphic design for company A for three months.

In the first month, Aziza received a fee of Rp. 6,000,000. Then, in the second month, it was paid Rp. 6,500,000. In the third month it was paid Rp. 7,000,000.

So the calculation is that the salary obtained by Aziza is totaled and divided into his working period to get an average monthly salary. Then, the average monthly salary is multiplied by three months of work and divided into 12 months.

For example, Rp6,000,000 + 6,500,000.000 + Rp7,000,000 = 19,000,000 total salary for three months.

Then, Aziza's total salary is Rp. 19,000,000: 3 months of service period = Rp. 6,333,333 on average monthly salary.

Thus, the THR calculation for Aziza is:

3/12 x Rp6,333,333 = Rp1,583,333

This means that Aziza will receive THR Leberan 2023 amounting to Rp1,583,333.
