JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia's national airline officially operates international flights directly on the Singapore-Surabaya pp route (going home) today, Sunday (26/3).

"The operation of the Singapore - Surabaya direct flight route is expected not only to be able to provide a variety of direct flights to various leading destinations in Indonesia but also to contribute to the economic recovery of Surabaya and its surrounding cities through safe and comfortable flight services," said Garuda Indonesia President Director Irfan Setiaputra in an official statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday.

The Singapore - Surabaya flight route, which is the first direct international flight on the Surabaya hub, serves five times a week using the B737-800NG fleet which has a capacity of 12 business class passengers and 150 economy class passengers.

Singapore - Surabaya flights are served with GA 855 and departed from Changi International Airport at 19.20 LT and arrived in Surabaya at 20.50 WIB.

Meanwhile, the Surabaya - Singapore flight is served with GA 855 and departs from Juanda International Airport, Surabaya at 07.30 WIB and will arrive at Changi international airport, Singapore at 10.50 LT.

Irfan continued, it is also hoped that this flight route will be able to contribute to cargo delivery needs, especially various superior products from East Java.

With this flight route served, Garuda Indonesia will serve at least 37 flights from Singapore every week to three major cities in Indonesia, namely Jakarta which is served 27 times per week, Surabaya which is served five times a week and Denpasar which is served five times a week.
