Get IDR 7 Million! Let's Change Your Gasoline Motor To Electricity Now

This year, the government through the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) is known to allocate a budget of not less than IDR 350 billion for the conventional motor conversion program to electric motors.

The funds will later be distributed to the community of Rp. 7 million per person in the form of conversion subsidies. Meanwhile, the number of vehicles targeted is 50,000 units until the close of 2023.

The Minister of Finance added that this program applies to the public without any special accompanying requirements, unless the target quota of 50,000 units has been met.

"There is no limit for conversion motorbikes," he said during a press conference in Jakarta, quoted by the editors on Tuesday, March 21.

The Minister of Finance explained that the subsidy program does not only apply to gasoline vehicles that are converted to electric, but also for the purchase of new electric motors. Meanwhile, the value of the benefits received is the same, which is Rp. 7 million with a total of 200,000 units.

Even so, the new electric motor subsidy is limited because it requires certain provisions for consumers who want to buy.

The recipients of the benefits of the new electric motor subsidy are MSME recipients of People's Business Credit (KUR). In addition, recipients of Productive Assistance for Micro Enterprises or BPUM, recipients of wage subsidies, and recipients of 450-900 VA electricity subsidies, "he said.

The Minister of Finance added that the total budget for electric motorcycle subsidies provided by the government this year is IDR 1.75 trillion.

Meanwhile, next year it will increase to IDR 5.25 trillion, consisting of 600,000 new electric motor subsidies and 150,000 conversion motor subsidies.
