14,307 Houses In West Java Receive Free Electricity Installation Assistance Throughout 2022

The Directorate General of Empowerment of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources reported that as many as 14,307 households in West Java received Electricity New Installation Assistance (BPBL) in 2022.

"The realization of BPBL recipients in the province of West Java in 2022 is 14,307 household connections. For Cianjur Regency, 2,110 household connections have been connected spread across 23 sub-districts," said MP Dwinugroho, Technical and Environmental Technology Director. to the media quoted Thursday, March 16.

Furthermore, Nugroho explained that according to the results of the Working Meeting of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources with Commission VII of the DPR RI on September 22, 2022, the 2023 APBN allocation has been approved to continue the BPBL Program as many as 83,000 households spread across 32 provinces.

"For West Java Province itself, in 2023, it is planned to receive an allocation of 13,980 households receiving BPBL," Nugroho explained.

Deputy Chairman of Commission VII Eddy Soeparno who was present at the inauguration said that the presence of electricity in one house is like day and night, if there is no electricity at night, after the electricity becomes during the day.

"Once the house has electricity, it changes completely, from the start of enthusiasm, psychological change, the economy will change due to the bright day," said Eddy.

He also revealed that his party is ready to help and become a forum for people's aspirations to bridge with the government.

Director of Retail and Commerce of PT PLN (Persero) Edi Srimulyanti stated that PLN continues to learn from the BPBL program that was carried out in the previous year so that future implementation can be better.

"We learned from the realization (of the BPBL program) carried out in 2022, for 2023 hopefully it will be better implemented. We have prepared applications and support systems to make it easier and more transparent in electrifying all of Indonesia," said Edi.
