JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) has consistently accelerated the transformation of Industry 4.0 through breakthroughs to increase the competitiveness of the national industry and bring the Indonesian economy to the top 10 of the world economy by 2030.

Through the development of the Indonesian Digital Industry Center (PIDI 4.0), the Ministry of Industry organizes various agendas for industrial transformation 4.0, which includes industrial awareness 4.0, IDI 4.0 assessment, industrial training and assistance 4.0, industrial training and assistance 4.0, and e-smart IKM.

"As a result of the transformation agenda, currently there are 76 IDI 4.0 chip companies, 13 industrial national lighthouse 4.0 companies, and two global lighthouse industrial 4.0 companies in Indonesia as references and examples in carrying out the industrial transformation journey 4.0," said Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in a press release, quoted on Wednesday, March 15.

The implementation of industrial transformation 4.0 also contributes to several achievements, such as reducing energy consumption to 4-40 percent, increasing productivity to 5-22 percent, and reducing production costs by 3-78 percent.

The use of this transformation also made the Indonesian industry reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2.80 million tons of CO2 or the equivalent of 102 percent of the National Determined Contribution target by 2022.

"Seeing the benefits of implementing industrial transformation 4.0, it is time for industries that have not implemented industry 4.0 to enter (to industry 4.0), because transformation to industry 4.0 will increase the competitiveness of their products, to be more competitive in the world market and domestic market," said Agus.

To encourage companies to transform into industry 4.0, Minister of Industry Agus targets that by the end of 2024, at least two companies in Indonesia will receive a global lighthouse industry status of 4.0 from the World Economic Forum, as well as five to six companies that are national lighthouses.

"So, later there will be at least four global lighthouse industries 4.0 and 18 national lighthouse industries 4.0 at the end of next year," he said.

Minister of Industry Agus stated that the activity was a milestone to accelerate the PIDI 4.0 service in facilitating the industry to adopt 4.0 technology.

"The Ministry of Industry really appreciates the implementation of various joint activities involving all PIDI 4.0 partners through conferences, exhibitions, and various Collaborative events which will be held for the next four days," he said.

He hopes that this series of activities can increase industrial awareness 4.0 in Indonesia, and strengthen networks between partners and stakeholders who are members of the PIDI 4.0 ecosystem. "In addition, the establishment of the PIDI Hub and also the Metaverse PIDI 4.0 as interactive platforms allows wider social interactions for PIDI 4.0 stakeholders," explained Agus.

The Grand Launching PIDI 4.0 and Kick Off activities of the Industry Transformation Program 4.0 were attended by Japan's Ambassador to Indonesia Kanasugi Kenji, representatives from the United States Embassy, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Sweden, the Director of KITC, echelon I officials of the Ministry of Industry, as well as stakeholders including associations and industrial companies from seven priority sectors.

On this occasion, Minister of Industry Agus also handed over INDI certificates 4.0 am state-owned companies.

For your information, PIDI 4.0 has five pillars to realize the implementation of industry 4.0 in Indonesia and the Indonesia 4.0 window in the world. This year, PIDI 4.0 has compiled several programs for each pillar.

For the Showcase pillar, PIDI 4.0 will collaborate with industrial anchors in drafting the Edu-tour showcase business concept and model for industry players and the general public.

Meanwhile, in the Capability pillar, PIDI 4.0 will also facilitate industrial skills training 4.0 for 6,000 industrial human resources, and the Human Capital Readiness Index and Grand Mapping Training Program will be prepared.
