Moncer Performance Pede, BRI Boss: At Least 70 Percent Of Profit Will Become Dividends

JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk said BRI will continue to distribute dividends with payout ratios above 70 percent.

"In the next 3 to 4 years, no matter how much BRI's profit is worth sharing in the form of dividends. This means that management is committed even though we get a profit of at least 70 percent, we can distribute it in the form of dividends," said Sunarso, quoted on Tuesday, March 14.

He explained that the amount of dividend distribution was based on BRI's capital. Just so you know, as of December 2022, BRI's capital adequacy ratio (CAR) reached 25.1 percent.

"Thus, BRI's challenge is to deliver high capital challenges through growing and growing," continued Sunarso.

He further explained that at the time of the establishment of the BRI ultra micro holding, the right issue was the largest corporate action in Southeast Asia with a right issue of Rp. 96 trillion. The capital is destined to increase capital to Pegadaian and PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM)

"The remaining capital cash is IDR 41 trillion. What does that mean? That way BRI's capital is very strong and until last December CAR BRI was 25.1 percent," concluded Sunarso.

Just so you know, the BRI Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) decided to distribute a dividend of 85 percent or Rp43.49 trillion from net profit in 2022 to shareholders.

"The cash dividends distributed include the amount of interim dividends that have been distributed to shareholders on January 27, 2023, amounting to Rp8.60 trillion, so that the remaining amount of cash dividends to be paid to BBRI shareholders is at least Rp34.89 trillion," Sunarso said at a press conference, Monday, March 13.

He added that the remaining 15 percent worth Rp7.67 trillion would be used as retained earnings.

For dividends that are part of the Republic of Indonesia state, at least 53.19 percent of shares or at least Rp. 23.15 trillion will be deposited with the State General Cash Account.
