Alfamart Owner, Conglomerate Djoko Susanto Gelontorokan Rp200 Billion Injection Lawson

Conglomerate Djoko Susanto, owner of the Alfamart retail network, has just increased his share ownership in the Lawson management company, PT Lancar Wiguna Sejahtera, worth Rp200.09 billion.

Smooth Wiguna Sejahtera (LWS) which is a subsidiary of PT Midi Utama Indonesia Tbk. (MIDI), the manager of Alfamidi, has issued 207,142,856 new shares with an exercise price of Rp966 per share. Thus, transactions reached Rp200.09 billion with a nominal value of Rp100.

Directors of Midi Utama Indonesia explained that this transaction was carried out as a form of innovation in responding to the development of market needs. Macroeconomic conditions and community mobility are again considered to be positive sentiment for the retail industry, especially for the Lawson brand.

"We view the need to develop a business to encourage sustainable revenue growth in LWS by increasing share capital with a new stock issuance scheme totensuance, CMP, and PIM which will be used as a source of funding in developing Lawson outlets," MIDI management wrote in an official statement, quoted Monday, March 13.

This additional capital is expected to strengthen LWS so that it can increase market share and absorb power for consumer needs. The final result of LWS' growing performance is a positive contribution to consolidated financial performance.

In the issuance of the new shares, PT Amanda Cipta Persada (ACP) took a share of 138,785,714 shares, equivalent to Rp134.06 billion. This previously held 5 million LWS shares or the equivalent of 1 percent.

He is now narrowing 143.78 million LWS shares or equivalent to 20.34 percent. PT Cakrawala Mulia Prima (CMP) also took part by taking over 34,178,571 with a share investment value of Rp33.01 billion.

CMP is now directly narrowing its LWS shares by 4.83 percent. Like CMP, PT Perkasa Internusa Mandiri (PIM) also participated in the share participation with the same transaction value.

Meanwhile, the share of ownership of Lawson's parent, MIDI, was eroded from the initial 99 percent to 70 percent because it did not participate in the issuance of new shares. However, MIDI still has control over LWS.

This is a company whose 99 percent stake is narrowed by PT Sigmantara Alfindo owned by Djoko Susanto. Sigmantara Alfindo also holds 72.06 percent of PIM's shares and is MIDI's indirect shareholder through PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk. (AMRT), Alfamart's manager.
