JAKARTA - The Indonesian Furniture and Crafts Industry Association (HIMKI) together with Dyandra Promosindo targeted more than 10,000 buyers (buyers) from 112 countries who attended the 2023 International Furniture Expo (IFEX) exhibition, at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.

The IFEX 2023 which will take place from 9-12 March is part of the Asia Furniture Show Circle which is connected to furniture exhibitions in Southeast Asia.

"For this year, IFEX targets 12,000 buyers from 112 countries present at this exhibition, including India, America, Australia, France, and Japan, with 500 exhibitors participating in it," said Dyandra Promosindo President Director Deswar Marpaung during a press conference at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Thursday, March 9.

According to Daswar, the implementation of IFEX 2023 which is carried out by HIMKI together is a commitment and support to always encourage the local furniture and handicraft industry, in order to continue to contribute to export growth and the national economy.

"We hope that the implementation of IFEX 2023 can provide positive value and have a broad impact on the community, as well as the industries involved in it," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the HIMKI Presidium, Abdul Sobur, said that his party as the organizer targets the value of IFEX transactions to reach 1 billion US dollars.

According to him, the transaction value is equivalent to 35 percent of the total national export value which reaches around 3.5 billion US dollars.

"We see that the total transactions that reach 1 billion US dollars will be sourced from transactions on the spot (OTS) during the exhibition of 250 million US dollars," he said.

Sobur hopes that with this international furniture exhibition, furniture industry players will not only have the opportunity to introduce their products to local markets, but also international markets.
