JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) will build a booth on an area of 3,000 square meters with the main icon in the form of a phinisi ship at the Hannover Messe 2023 international industry trade show in Germany, on April 17-21.

"There are quite large physical buildings that describe complete phinisi ships, from bow to stern, behind there are two lower and upper decks as branding country partners at Hannover Messe 2023," said Director General of Regional Resilience and Access to International Industry Eko S. Director General Eko said that at Hannover Messe, which will officially open on April 16, Indonesia will feature 157 co-exhibitors with various activities to introduce the capabilities of the Indonesian industry, encourage various collaborations, carry out technological transformations, benchmarks for mastery of technology, and promote investment.

"This activity is expected to be able to develop networking which will lead to business deals, investment commitments and become part of the global ecosystem in the supply chain," he said.

On the same occasion, Expert Staff to the Minister of Climate Business and Investment, Ministry of Industry Andi Rizaldy, said that Indonesia deliberately chose a phinisi ship from South Sulawesi which is the world's cultural heritage as the main icon.

The phinisi ship is planned to become the Indonesian Pavilion which will be the venue for seminars/conference/business matching for the 157 co-exhibitors who participated in the Hannover Messe 2023.

"There are 91 private companies, ministries/agencies 13, of the associations there are 157 participants, but actually more because they are represented by eight associations. Then, there are 20 industrial estates and SEZs, we also invite 16 SOEs and nine educational institutions," explained Andi.

According to the plan, Indonesia will carry six themes for its role as partner country Hannover Messe 2023, including Making Indonesia 4.0, investment/industrial parks, sustainability & energy transition, human capital, startup/innovation, and display categories.

"We also want to show that we are ready to make the (Indonesia) industry environmentally friendly, there are around 16 co-exhibitors who have a sustainability theme," concluded Andi.
