Edelweiss Plantation Damaged Due To Motor Trail Event, Perhutani Will Rehabilitate Ranca Upas

JAKARTA - The Ranca Upas camping ground in Bandung Regency, West Java, was badly damaged due to a trail motorbike event.

The land that was once green grass turned into a muddy puddle, even the rare swamp edelweiss plant was limply uprooted from its roots.

As a result, Perhutani and the trail bike community have become the butt of netizens.

In fact, Perhutani as the manager and giver of permits is labeled as only thinking about business and not caring about the environment.

Responding to this, the Corporate Secretary of Perhutani Alam Wisata Ronald F Silaen apologized for the incident which had an impact on the environment and caused harm to the surrounding community.

As a follow-up, said Ronald, his party will cooperate with environmentalists, local communities, and relevant stakeholders to make improvements.

"We will carry out rehabilitation as an effort to restore the ecosystem in Ranca Upas," he told VOI, Wednesday, March 8.

As the location manager, Perhutani Alam Wisata will also improve the SOP in permitting events to be held in forest areas to ensure that there is no impact on the environment.

"Henceforth, all forms of event activities in the form of Trail & Offroad in forest areas, are prohibited from being carried out," he said.

Furthermore, Ronald said that Perhutani Alam Wisata would also collaborate with various parties to jointly carry out supervision.

"And ensure that every event that is carried out is carried out professionally and meets the requirements and prevents environmental damage," he said.

Ronald said, Paguyuban Putra Murni Kurnia Trail Adventure Feat TRAMAX "SS has also apologized for the incident that occurred at Ranca Upas.
