Pertamina Gas Subholding Starts Building 36 Thousand Commercial Domestic Gas Networks In Bintaro Areas

JAKARTA - Pertamina Gas Subholding PT PGN Tbk together with its subsidiary, PT PGAS Solution, has realized the construction of a natural gas network to serve household needs, small customers, and commercial in the Bintaro area of South Tangerang. Construction will be carried out at Villa Melati Mas Housing, Graha Raya Housing, and Bintaro Jaya Housing.

Development is targeted to reach 35,749 Home Connections (SR), 203 small customers (MSMEs), and 38 commercials. In order to facilitate gas distribution, a dedicated pipe will be built around 37 KM from the existing pipeline to the Bintaro Area in stages. This development is also a follow-up to PGN's collaboration with PT Jaya Real Property Tbk (JRP) for the development of household and commercial gas in the Bintaro area.

"PGN hopes that the support of all parties, especially the local government and the local community for the success of the jargas. The success of the jargas will provide benefits for the community and business actors around Villa Melati Mas Housing, Graha Raya Housing, and Bintaro Jaya Housing in South Tangerang, because it will save household spending and help save the energy costs of business actors," said PGN Infrastructure and Technology Director Achmad Muchtasyar, Friday, February 23.

From 2021 to 2023, PGN has carried out developments in Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency and Cilegon City as many as 138,473 SRT.

"PGN continues to strive to increase the number of jargas utilizers in Tangerang City, Tangerang Regency and its surroundings. Hopefully, the addition of transmission pipelines, distribution pipes and supporting infrastructure will also run smoothly in order to improve access to natural gas," said Achmad.

Jargas development is part of the National Strategic Project and mandated by the government to PGN in order to support policies to reduce subsidies over energy imports and reduce CO2 emissions. PGN targets the construction of 400,000 SR per year with PGN's internal investment scheme.

"PGAS Solution runs the construction of jargas in the Bintaro area professionally, according to the applicable security rules and standards. Together with the support of various parties and the community, it is hoped that it will make it easier for us to face challenges or obstacles during the construction of the gas network. It is not limited during construction, but also during maintenance when the jargas is already operating later," said PGAS President Director Solution Sabaruddin.

As part of Pertamina's Oil and Gas Holding, PGN Group is committed to carrying out household gas development. The value of more natural gas, which is more economical and environmentally friendly, can increase value to support the community's economy. With this increase in value, PGN is motivated to increase gas volume distribution for households, MSMEs, commercial, and industry.
