Esemka's Boss Gives Him An Answer About The Existence Of His Lost Car Like Being Swallowed By The Earth

JAKARTA - The existence of a domestically made car, namely Esemka, has not been heard in the public's ears for a long time. Esemka's car was first launched in 2019.

The launch of Esemka's car at the PT Solo Manufacturing Kreasi factory was also attended directly by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

However, after the launch, Esemka's name seemed to have disappeared from the surface. The Esemka cars circulating can also be counted for fingers.

Even so, four years later or to be precise this year, the car by the nation's children ventured to appear at a well-known automotive exhibition in Indonesia.

Yes, Esemka's car ventured to register at the 2023 Indonesian International Motor Show (IIMS) automotive exhibition. Why suddenly reappear?

President Director of PT Solo Manufacturing Kreasi Eddy Wirajaya said that his party plans to expand.

Unfortunately, the plan had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic that hit Indonesia.

"Many media colleagues have asked where Esemka has been? We are always there, we are always there in terms of a pandemic, we are temporarily delaying production, we need research and technology transfer to partner, so at this moment we have made a decision, the right time to leave at this biggest event IIMS," said Eddy at a press conference at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, recently.

Eddy said, during the pandemic his party implemented strict health protocols and stopped production activities.

Nevertheless, he explained that none of the workers at the PT SMK factory were affected by layoffs during COVID-19 in the country.

Now, PT SMK is back with improvements and introducing a new model in the form of an Esemka Bima EV electric car.

Then, Esemka Bima 1.3 which is currently equipped with Electronic Power Steering and Air Conditioner (AC).

If Esemka Bima 1.3 had been assembled at the Boyolali factory, Esemka Bima Ev was still brought directly from China.

"We have held since the pandemic one year ago, we have fixing infrastructure, we have added production equipment and we have produced it. Last year, we started production activities again," he added.
