JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is targeting the Cileunyi-Sumedang-Dawuan (Cisumdawu) toll road and the South Jakarta Cikampek (Japek) II Toll Road, the Kutanegara-Sadang segment, to operate on Lebaran this year.

"We hope that Cisumdawu will fully operate on Lebaran later. We will try to do Cisumdawu. So, usually this is the case, this toll road is operated after we declare it feasible," said Director General of Highways of the Ministry of PUPR Hedy Rahadian to reporters in Jakarta, Wednesday, February 8.

Hedy said, before the Cisumdawu Toll Road was fully operational, his party would first check all the readiness on the toll road, starting from the gate operation to the exit toll.

"While waiting for the tariff determination, we usually carry out an evaluation and that's an average of two weeks to a month. Usually, during (the timeframe) it is free until it is released, the minister will determine the tariff from the minister," he said.

Even so, Hedy ensured that the Cisumdawu Toll Road would fully operate during Eid. "We will try to open an operation (Lebaran this year)," he explained.

In addition, said Hedy, his party is also targeting the South Jakarta Cikampek II Toll Road, the Kutanegara-Sadang segment, which has been fully operational in 2023.

"It is also hoped that the South Japek II Toll Road for the Kutanegara - Sadang segment can be opened operationally (this year)," he added.

Previously, the Director General of Highways of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Hedy Rahadian said the Cileunyi Sumedang Dawuan (Cisumdawu) Toll road could be passed by vehicles during Lebaran 2023 homecoming. However, it is necessary to watch out for land movement and traffic congestion.

"The Cisumdawu Toll Road during Lebaran 2023 homecoming can technically be passed by vehicles," said Hedy in Cirebon, West Java, quoted from Antara, Thursday, February 2.

According to him, with the operation of the Cisumdawu Toll Road, traffic on the Cipularang Toll Road can be reduced, because so far vehicles from Bandung to Cirebon and vice versa only use the Cipularang Toll Road.
