Buwas: Government Still Debt To Bulog IDR 1.2 Trillion

JAKARTA - President Director of the Public Company for Logistics Affairs Agency (Perum Bulog) Budi Waseso revealed that the receivables that have not been paid by the government reached IDR 1.2 trillion. The total government receivables amounted to IDR 5.2 trillion.

Buwas, Budi Waseso's nickname, explained that the government had only paid off its debt of IDR 4 trillion in 2022. Buwas said there was a delay in paying the debt.

At that time they had debts with us, if I'm not mistaken, IDR 5.2 trillion. I have paid IDR 4 trillion, so the remaining IDR 1.2 trillion," said Buwas when met at the Cipinang Rice Main Market, Jakarta, Friday, February 3.

Furthermore, Buwas hopes that the government has paid off the Food SOE receivables as soon as possible.

"Payd the remaining debt," he said.

The Rp1.2 trillion Bulog receivables do not include the difference in the price of imported rice assignments of 500,000 tons.

For example, continued Buwas, imported rice was purchased at a price of Rp. 9,000 per kilogram (kg).

However, according to the company's provisions, the company must sell at a medium price in the market of Rp. 8,300 per kg. Therefore, there is a price difference of Rp. 700.

Buwas said, this price difference will later be paid by the government to Bulog.

The money used to absorb imported rice comes from a banking loan.

"I bought this, I used bank loan money, this is taken into account. The reason is that I bought this premium, the price up to the warehouse, the calculation was Rp. 9,000, the most expensive, but we have a certain provision of Rp. 8,300, meaning that there is a difference of Rp. 700, now this is paid by the state," said Buwas.
