Langka Oil, KPPU: The Price Is IDR 17,000 Per Liter In Jakarta

JAKARTA - The Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU) revealed that there is a shortage and increase in the price of simple packaged cooking oil with the trademark of Oil.

In fact, in Jakarta, West Java, and Banten areas, it ranges from Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 17,000 per liter.

KPPU's Director of Economics, Deputy for Studies and Advocacy Mulyawan Ranamangala said, from all KPPU regional offices (canwil) in the regions, the majority said that the supply of oil and land fires was scarce and the price had increased.

Areas that say that it is difficult to obtain oil and land from Jakarta, West Java, Banten, Medan, South Sumatra, Jambi, Bengkulu, Surabaya, Balikpapan, to Samarinda.

"Based on a survey conducted by our friends in the regional office, it turns out that of the 7 regional offices in Indonesia that we have, 6 regional offices found the price of bulk cooking oil above 15,500 per kg," he said at the KPPU Journalists Forum, Monday, January 30.

However, said Mulyawan, there are also regional offices that promote the supply of bulk cooking oil and oil is relatively easy to obtain.

"There are only three regional offices whose monitoring is that simple packaged cooking oil or oil is easy to obtain and bulk cooking oil is also easy to obtain," he said.

Meanwhile, information from Regional Office III for Jakarta, West Java and Banten. Head of Regional Office III of KPPU Lina Rosmiati said the price of simple packaged cooking oil in oil in West Java increased in the range of IDR 15,000 to IDR 16,000 per liter.

This price is much different from the highest retail price (HET) set by the Ministry of Trade. Where the HET regulated for Oil is Rp. 14,000 per liter and bulk cooking oil is Rp. 15,500 per kilogram (kg).

Lina said that not only did it increase in prices. However, the supply of oil and land in the West Java region is also difficult to obtain.

"Omilita's stock is very limited. Even at some points there are not many or the tendency is empty," said Lina.

In Jakarta, said Lina, the price of oillicita in markets ranges from Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 17,000 per liter. Lina said the supply was also limited.

A normal bulk stock, oil is limited. In Banten, the price of bulk cooking oil is Rp. 14,500 to Rp. 17,700 per kg. Oil is Rp. 14,000 to Rp. 15,000 per liter. Stock is limited," he said.
