Deputy Minister Of Trade Jerry: Price Of Basic Materials Relatively Stable In The People's Market

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry Sambuaga said that ahead of the month of Ramadan, his party continues to ensure price stabilization and the availability of basic commodities (bapok).

He said, in the people's markets prices were monitored stable and the stock was available.

This was conveyed by Jerry after visiting the Winenet Bitung Market, North Minahasa Cauditan Market, and Manado Healthy Market.

"The results of discussions with traders in the market, the price of bapok in general is as expected by the government," said Jerry, in an official statement, Sunday, January 29.

At the Winenet Bitung Market as of January 28, 2023, local rice prices were monitored at IDR 12,000-13,000 per kg, sugar IDR 15,000-16,000 per kg, packaged cooking oil IDR 20,000-22,000 per liter (Sedap and Bimoli brands), Oil Oil IDR 16,000 per liter, and bulk oil IDR 18,700 per liter.

Meanwhile, chicken meat is Rp26,500 per kg, chicken eggs Rp27,200 per kg, red cayenne pepper Rp34,000-40,000 per kg, curly red chilies Rp20,000-25,000 per kg, shallots Rp40,000-50,000 per kg, and garlic Rp30,000 per kg.

Furthermore, you know IDR 10,000 per bks, tempeh IDR 2,000 per small pack, flour IDR 13,000 per kg (Kompas brand), and beef IDR 140,000 per kg.

The visit was then continued to the North Minahasa Cauditan Market. The prices of several commodities, such as local rice, were recorded at Rp. 12,000 per kg, sugar was Rp. 15,000 per kg, packaged oil and gas migor was Rp. 18,000 per liter, and bulk oil was Rp. 18,000 per kg, equivalent to Rp. 16,200 per liter.

Meanwhile, chicken eggs are Rp. 28,800 per kg, wheat flour is Rp. 15,000 per kg, red cayenne pepper is Rp. 30,000-35,000 per kg, curly red chili is Rp. 15,000 per kg, shallots Rp. 40,000-50,000 per kg, and garlic is Rp. 30,000 per kg.

Furthermore, tofu was recorded at IDR 5,000 per pack and tempeh was IDR 5,000 per pack.

As for the Manado Healthy Market, the price of medium rice is Rp. 11,000-12,000 per kg, Bulog rice is Rp. 9,500-10,000 per kg, premium rice is Rp. 12,500-13,000 per kg, sugar is Rp. 14,000-15,000 per kg, packaged oil is Rp. 18,000-23,000 per liter, Oil is Rp. 14,000-Rp. 16,000 per liter, bulk cooking oil is Rp. 18,000 per kg or equivalent to Rp. 16,200 per liter.

Meanwhile, chicken meat Rp. 28,000-Rp. 30,000 per kg, chicken eggs Rp. 28,800-Rp. 30,400 per kg, red cayenne pepper Rp. 30,000-Rp. 35,000 per kg, curly red chilies Rp. 20,000 per kg, shallots Rp. 40,000-Rp. 50,000 per kg, garlic Rp. 30,000 per kg, and beef Rp. 125,000 per kg.

Deputy Minister of Trade Jerry said the results of these monitoring were in line with data from the Ministry of Trade regarding the average national retail price of bapok.

"Prices are mostly stable, but there is a slight increase in some commodities, including chilies, shallots, and broiler eggs," he said.

The Ministry of Trade together with the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), and local governments compiled the Price Development Index (IPH) as a joint effort to control inflation in the regions.
