Operation 177 Sea Transportation Trayek, Director General Of Hubla Kemenhub: Bapok Distribution To 3TP Region No Obstacle

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) through the Directorate General of Sea Transportation operates 177 sea transportation routes as part of strategic activities in carrying out public service obligations for sea transportation for the 2023 fiscal year.

The 177 routes consist of 39 sea freight vessels, 116 pioneer ship routes, six special ship routes for livestock transportation, and 16 rede ship routes.

The Director General of Sea Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation, Arif Toha, in a written statement on Friday, January 27, said that the Ministry of Transportation is committed to continuing to improve sea transportation services.

In addition, invite all parties to collaborate and work together to optimize services for the implementation of public service obligations for sea transportation.

"Therefore, support is needed from all parties so that community mobilization between islands, distribution of basic goods and essentials to disadvantaged, remote, outermost and border areas (3TP) and distribution of livestock to the regions can continue without any obstacles, especially from the availability of sea transportation facilities," said Arif, quoted from Antara.

Meanwhile, for the implementation of public service obligations, sea transportation is carried out through two procurement mechanisms, namely through an assignment mechanism to state-owned national sea transportation companies and public auction mechanisms in order to provide opportunities for business competition to private national sea transportation companies.

The implementation of sea transportation in 2023 was marked by the initial release of the sea toll ship KM. Kendhaga Nusantara 7 which served the T-14 route some time ago at Tanjung Perak Port, Surabaya.

Furthermore, Arif explained that in general, every type of sea transportation has an emphasis on hope or purpose in its implementation.

For example, pioneer ships are sea transportation that people in the 3TP area really trust in given the absence of other types of transportation (land and air) operating in the area.

Meanwhile, sea-toll goods vessels are sea transportation that is fixed and scheduled between islands, starting from the base port to the stop port, especially in the 3TP area which is expected to reduce price disparities.

Meanwhile, the rede ship is designated as a "feeder" or a liaison to ports or places that cannot be visited by the main ship due to incomplete port facilities.

Then, the special ship for animal transportation is intended to increase the effectiveness of livestock transportation activities and to support food security programs, especially in the field of self-sufficiency in beef in Indonesia.
