Contractors Don't Apply K3 Will Enter Black Sanctions From Partners List

PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) will impose strict sanctions on contractors who are negligent and do not apply Work Safety and Health (K3) in operational activities in the field.

PHR President Director, Jaffee A Suardin said PHR asked all contractors/work partners to display quality performance and carry out operational activities by paying attention, prioritizing and implementing K3 carefully and continuously.

"If non-compliance is found in the implementation of work, it will have consequences in the form of firm action, up to black sanctions from the list of partners," he said to the media quoted on Tuesday, January 24.

He continued, PHR always strives for work safety and will continue to make it a top priority in operations in the Rokan WK.

Meanwhile, responding to work accidents seriously and carrying out the investigation process with stakeholders such as SKK Migas Sumbagut, Directorate General of Oil and Gas ESDM, Riau Manpower Office and Riau Provincial Police.

"All parties immediately went to the field to monitor and investigate thoroughly. As well as ensuring that the safety aspect of workers is always a top priority in carrying out operations," he concluded.

As previously reported, a worker named Derison Siregar (23) died in an oil well in the Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) working area, in West Minas Village, Siak Regency.

"The incident began when the victim left with his partner to the location of Sumur Rig PHR in Area 5D-28 KM 33 West Minas, Wednesday (18/1)," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of Siak Police Iptu Toni Prawira.

The worker from Central Tapanuli, North Sumatra was found lying down in a squatting position, his head was on the floor table and unconscious.

"Furthermore, witness 2 named Octa ran towards the camp to pick up a stretcher. Another PT ACS employee immediately took the victim by car to the PHR clinic," said Toni as well.

The Riau Province Manpower Office (Disnaker) has formed an investigation team to investigate the case of the death of Derison Siregar (23).

"The PHR has officially reported and the investigative team has summoned PHR and related parties, because the deceased is a worker from a PHR subcontractor," said Head of the Riau Provincial Manpower Service, Imron Rosyadi, quoted by Antara, Friday, January 20.

He said the incident was included in the fatality category, because the victim was only 23 years old and died from being hit by iron.

He explained that fatality was an incident where workers who were hit, fell, were hit, so his party formed a team to check work safety standards from PHR.

"We are investigating standard operating procedures, dismantling cranes like what then why the victim was hit," he also said.
