Jabodebek LRT Project: Operation Schedule, Station, Ticket Price And Payment Model

YOGYAKARTA - The Jabodebek LRT project is a rail-based transportation project with very large complex and scale details.

The presence of the Jabodebek LRT is expected to reduce the density of vehicles entering Jakarta from satellite cities around it.

In addition, the Jabodebek LRT project is also intended to minimize congestion on the Jakarta-Cikampek (Japek) and Jagorawi toll roads.

Adapting VOI, Wednesday, January 18, 2023, the Jabodebek LRT is planned to operate in July 2023. Later, the mode of transportation will be equipped with advanced technology, namely the Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) system with a Grade of Automation (GoA) level 3.

The CBTC system is a system that allows the Jabodebek LRT to operate without a driver. Not only that, but this communication-based train operating system can also operate trains and project schedules automatically from the operations control center.

"Even without a driver, the Jabodebek LRT journey still has officers called Train Attendant to provide services to customers and is needed for handling in emergency conditions," said Jabodebek LRT Public Relations Manager Kuswardojo in his official statement on Friday, January 13, 2023.

The Jabodebek LRT will operate 31 trainsets or series. Each Jabodebek LRT trainset consists of six trains. The Jabodebek LRT is known to be able to carry 1,308 passengers.

"The Jabodebek LRT will serve the community from 05.00 WIB to 23.27 WIB. Later, the Jabodebek LRT will average 434 train trips (KA) every day with an initial target of 137,000 users per day," said Kuswardojo.

How much is the ticket price for the Jabodebek LRT?

The Indonesian Train (KAI) proposes the ticket price for the Jabodebek LRT of IDR 5,000 for the closest distance. The LRT tariff for the furthest distance is set at IDR 25,000 Meanwhile, the average tariff is IDR 15,000.

The proposed ticket price can be cheaper as long as the government provides subsidies.

How is the Jabodebek LRT Ticket Payment Model?

Later, the Jabodebek LRT will implement a cashless system using the existing Transportation Electronic Money Card (KUE), such as the Multi Trip Card (KMT), Electronic Money Card or digital wallet.

"KAI has also prepared station supervisors, counter officers, passanger service, cleaning service, health workers and security to optimize customer services at all Jabodebek LRT stations," concluded Kuswardojo.
