The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) stated that throughout 2022 it has helped facilitate the distribution of financing worth IDR 10.4 trillion to 328,086 fishery micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Plt. Director General of Strengthening the Competitiveness of KKP Products Ishartini said this value grew 22.5 percent compared to the 2021 period which amounted to IDR 8.5 trillion for 358,048 debtors.

"Of course we want everything that has been achieved to help improve people's welfare as well as a positive signal for the economy," he said in a press statement, quoted Wednesday, January 19.

According to Ishartini, last year's score consisted of People's Business Credit (KUR) of Rp9.9 trillion and Ultra Micro Credit (UMi) from Madani National Capital (PNM) of Rp525.7 billion.

"The government continues to encourage the absorption of KUR and UMi to cause multiple effects in the environment around program recipients," he said.

Ishartini detailed that the realization of 2022 financing targets 93,217 cultivators with a total of IDR 3.5 trillion, to 76,047 fishery product marketing business debtors of IDR 3.3 trillion.

Then, to 127,705 fishing debtors amounted to IDR 2.5 trillion and to 16,199 fishery service business debtors amounted to IDR 728.2 billion.

"We also ensure that 6,876 fishery processors receive financing of Rp325.4 billion and 80 debtors of the plantation business will receive financing of Rp9.98 billion in 2022," he added.

For information, the KKP has placed Marine and Fisheries Business Assistance (TPUKP) in 34 provinces tasked with assisting financial management and literacy to fishery business actors, mainly micro and small scale.

In this implementation, these TPUKPs are placed in priority locations to support Budidaya Villages, Advanced Fishermen Villages, Competitive Power Clusters, processing centers, and other KKP priority locations.

"The main task of TPUKP includes converting business actors from bankable to bankable. So, MSMEs can continue to grow and have the opportunity to access higher-scale financing in large financial services institutions," concluded Ishartini.
