Ridwan Kamil Suggests Tasikmalaya Invites Investors To Build Lodging In Situ Gede

JAKARTA - The Governor of West Java (West Java) M Ridwan Kamil proposed to the Tasikmalaya City Government to invite investors to build lodging in the Situ Gede area, after revitalization and arrangement in Tasikmalaya City, including the tourist attraction.

"Many tourists wish to stay in the Situ Gede area while enjoying nature. If I were a tourist it would be nice to stay here. Now that doesn't exist yet, so we directed Mr. Acting Mayor of Tasikmalaya to invite investors to make lodging because this is too beautiful, it would be a shame if enjoyed only by boat or just eating without staying overnight," said Governor Ridwan Kamil, in his written statement, in Bandung, quoted from Antara, Monday 16 January.

The Governor hopes that the revitalization of Situ Gede will strengthen Tasikmalaya as a city that focuses on the tourism economy. For this reason, said Ridwan Kamil, the City of Tasikmalaya must continue to be made comfortable, safe, and full of economic activity.

"Especially when the Cigatas Toll Road (Cileunyi-Garut-Tasikmalaya) finishes its exit to the city of Tasikmalaya, surely people will want to come here quickly and end up shopping, then the people here will benefit," he said.

The Governor is optimistic that the new face of Situ Gede in Mangkubumi District will increase Regional Original Income (PAD) and the people's economy considering its location in the city center.

"Situ Gede will become a tourist destination that provides income and economic progress for Tasikmalaya and the community," said Governor Ridwan Kamil.

The management and revitalization of Situ Gede is aimed at conservation, maintaining natural and ecological ecosystems, and enhancing the image of the area.

Kang Emil, Ridwan Kamil's nickname, said that the revitalization and arrangement of the Situ Gede area would continue in phase two until everything was completed.

"This has not yet been completed, only phase one. We will budget again until all are completed," he said. The Situ Gede tourist attraction is widely known to the public, but in the past, it was not in good order.

The West Java Provincial Government stipulates it as a provincial strategic program whose management is mandated to the West Java Water Resources Service.

The first phase of revitalization and arrangement of Situ Gede covers an area of ​​2,800 square meters. "Now below there is a place for trading, no one is marginalized. Everything is accommodated, those above are for canning, balakecrakan, boating, and other activities," he said.
