Ticket Prices For Domestic Plane Down, Menparekraf Sandiaga Hopes Tourism Interests In Indonesia Rise

JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said the domestic plane ticket price in early 2023 began to decline. Sandiaga Uno said the decline in domestic flight ticket prices was in line with the decline in the price of aviation fuel or aircraft fuel.

"Most airlines in Indonesia apply ticket prices that are much more affordable than the previous few months, along with the decline in avtur prices," wrote Sandiaga Uno, launching from his Instagram account, Saturday, January 14.

In the upload, Sandiaga Uno detailed the ticket prices for planes to and from several domestic tourist destinations in Indonesia, such as Jakarta-Bali, which was originally IDR 1,300.000-IDR 3.300.000, now it is IDR 700.000.

Next, Jakarta-Jogja, which was previously IDR 800,000-IDR 1,000,000, has now dropped to IDR 400,000. Then, there is Jakarta-Surabaya which was originally IDR 1,000,000, down to IDR 600,000.

"Hopefully, with this more affordable price, it will increase the interest of tourists to travel in Indonesia, so that it can help the economic recovery and create more jobs," he added.

Previously, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf) targeted the number of domestic tourist visits (wisnus) to reach 1.4 billion this year. This is to support the acceleration of the national economy in 2023.

"Indonesia will still grow about five percent, of course we must focus on encouraging the movement of domestic tourists to reach the target figure of 1.2 billion to 1.4 billion, we will strongly encourage the movement of domestic tourists," he said in a press statement, Tuesday, January 10.
