ASDP Merak Departs 38,972 Passengers On Christmas Day 2022

MERAK - PT. Pelangkutan Sungai Danau dan Pemberangan (ASDP) Merak Main Branch, Banten, carrying 38,972 passengers to Bakauheni, Lampung, on Christmas Day 2022.

Of this number, 38,972 people consist of 2,678 pedestrian passengers and 36,294 passengers on board vehicles.

Meanwhile, the number of vehicles was 7,709 people consisting of 1,030 motorcycles, 4,662 private cars, 368 buses and 1,649 trucks.

"Passengers on Christmas Day are busy running smoothly," said Head of Public Relations of PT ASDP Merak Putu Main Branch, quoted from Antara, Monday, December 26.

He said that the people who use Merak-Bakauheni crossing services on Christmas Day are quite busy smoothly.

The passengers were served as many as 31 ships with 101 Merak-Bakauheni trips.

"All passengers and vehicles can be delivered smoothly and safely to their destination," said Putu.

According to him, crossing transportation services during the Christmas and New Year transportation periods this time are considered better because there are no long queues at the Merak Port pier.

This is because both pedestrians and vehicle passengers buy tickets online, so that they arrive at the port they can immediately board the ship.

In addition, the condition of the ship is always waiting for passengers, so that the flow of the vehicle runs smoothly to cross to Bakauheni, Lampung.

"We continue to improve the quality of service for smooth, safety and timeliness, so that there are no queues or buildup of passengers and vehicles," he said.

Meanwhile, passengers at the Merak Port Executive Pier also admitted that they did not park at the port for so long, because they already had tickets online.

"We greatly benefit from buying tickets online, so we don't queue," said Budi, a driver of an ASDP crossing service user's vehicle that aims to go to Bandarlampung.
