PPI Ready To Maintain Price Stability And Commodity Availability At Christmas And New Year's Moments

JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) member of ID Food is committed to maintaining price stability and stock availability of national food commodities ahead of Christmas and the new year 2023.

President Director of PPI Nina Sulistyowati said that PPI, which has now transformed into a logistics trading company with its subsidiary BGR Logistics Indonesia, is ready to welcome the moment of Naru.

"PPI is quick to maintain the pillar of availability to be fulfilled, both from domestic production and export commodities abroad, encouraging the absorption of MSMEs, fishermen, farmers, and breeders, as well as affordability, which with the distribution of PPI networks throughout Indonesia makes it easier for us to be close to the source of demand, namely the Indonesian people," Nina said in a written statement, Friday, December 23.

Nina said that the distribution of operational areas allows PPI to carry out commercial functions that act as distributors of commercial products that support the availability, affordability, quality, and sustainability.

PPI in its capability as logistics trading together with its subsidiary PT BGR Logistics Indonesia (BLI), has readiness to maintain price stability and stock availability of national food commodities at Christmas and New Year's moments by distributing 32 branches, 20 BLI Divres, 80 thousand food stall partners, and 873 supporting fleets throughout Indonesia.

PPI also has a social function, namely implementing price stabilization programs, improving the regional economy, and empowering through cross selling which opens and absorbs the products of farmers, breeders, fishermen, and MSME actors.

"PPI supports local governments to improve community welfare by exploring and developing potentials in their respective regions through local economic development, empowering superior potentials and resources for the development of productive economic businesses," said Nina.

PPI, continued Nina, continues to strive to become a trade and logistics company that is committed to better serving in the process of transforming the food ecosystem, and supports government programs in order to realize food sovereignty in the implementation of supply chain end to end activities from upstream to downstream to be more efficient, through its role as a sales agent and off-food taker, gateway export and key holder for trading activities from food holding members, and has a good position in the market by increasing the growth capacity of the digitalized trade and logistics industry in Indonesia which is increasingly competitive.

This is in line with the direction of SOE Minister Erick Thohir who said that PPI can provide the best in the logistics trading business and is globally competitive in serving the community.

"PPI must support the SOE Food Holding ecosystem ID Food towards Indonesia's food sovereignty," said Erick.

At the moment of Christmas and New Year, PPI is also facilitated because it has a food stall platform that has a mission to make e-commerce enablers for empowerment in the food sector by providing quality and affordable food and non-food products.

Food stalls are a PPI strategic initiative program supported by the Ministry of SOEs and the Ministry of Trade in increasing the inclusiveness of stalls or MSMEs with easy access to digital distribution and transactions through the Warung Pangan application.

MSMEs that are partners with Warung Pangan get services by becoming food distribution channels for BUMN food holding products under ID Food to the community and creating a digitalized food ecosystem from upstream to downstream.

That way, PPI continues to be ready to support the realization of food security and play a real role in becoming a government agent with its contribution to providing and meeting Indonesia's food needs.
