Minister Of Transportation Budi To KAI: Add Train Operations During Christmas And New Year

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi said there was a surge in passengers during the 2022 Christmas and 2022 New Year holidays this time.

Therefore, Budi asked PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI to increase the operating hours of the train during that period.

"The number of train passengers is up 27 percent. We know the number of browsers rather than the series is not that big. And that can be achieved if we increase productivity, train mobilization is carried out more optimally, with those who say 12 hours of operation to 15 hours, or 15 hours to 18 hours," he said after the title ceremony. Christmas and New Year's Transport troops, Thursday, December 23.

Budi said the additional operating hours must be carried out at all travel destinations.

He is also optimistic that KAI can add good train operating hours.

"And that's in all directions, I'm sure it can be done because the company's trains are disciplined in serving the community," he said.

On this occasion, Budi also appealed to all train employees not to be easily lulled by praise.

According to the direction of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi), said Minister of Transportation Budi, transportation services during Christmas and New Year must comply with health protocols and also serve passengers with heart.

"The president assigned us cabinet members in a meeting (limited meeting) to serve Christmas and New Year's activities well and maintain the prokes," he said.

Budi also asked that in train services, employees are expected to use metal detectors. This is so that Christmas and New Year's activities can run smoothly.

"I also asked for security to use metal detectors as a whole and random because we don't want this noble activity to be tainted by irresponsible people," he said.
