JAKARTA - In supporting the fulfillment of natural gas energy needs to industrial consumers, PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas) as an affiliate of Pertamina Gas Subholding conducts strategic cooperation with PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa Tbk (Indocement) through the signing of the Gas Purchase Agreement (PJBG) on Monday 19 December.

The signing of PJBG was carried out by Gamal Imam Santoso, President Director of Pertagas and Christian Kartawijaya, President Director of Indocement. Also present were Kusdi Widodo, Commercial Director of Pertagas and Hasan Imer, Director of Indocement and management from both parties.

Through this collaboration, Pertagas will meet the gas needs for power plants and the production of Indocement's white cement with the need of around 9,000 MMBTUD. This need will utilize gas from the West Java region and be channeled through the Gas Subholding infrastructure.

"Subholding Gas has an integrated pipeline infrastructure that extends from Sumatra to the West Java region of Cirebon to Cilegon, including one of which goes to the Indocement plant," said Gamal Imam Santoso, President Director of Pertagas in his remarks.

Gamal also added that Pertagas as part of PGN, Pertamina's Gas Subholding, will continue to be committed to becoming the best partner of Indocement in meeting gas needs on an ongoing basis.

"Pertagas has experience, portfolio and competencies that Indocement can rely on as one of its strategic partners," Gamal continued.

Christian Kartawijaya, President Director of Indocement, welcomed the cooperation with Pertagas. His party would like to thank Pertagas for the best cooperation and effort provided, especially in providing gas supplies for Indocement needs.

"Our company is the only white cement producer in Indonesia, which requires gas for its production process so that it produces quality and environmentally friendly products," said Christian.

Christian hopes that through a consistent gas supply and according to the mutually agreed specifications, it will be able to improve operational performance as an exporter of masks and the natural gas-based national cement industry in Indonesia.

Subholding gas itself will continue to strive to expand the development of gas infrastructure to meet consumer needs in various industries, one of which is the cement industry. This is in line with the government's program to support the achievement of an environmentally friendly energy transition through natural gas, in order to achieve Net Zero Emission 2060.
