JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia Group through full-service Garuda Indonesia flight services and low-cost carrier (LCC) Citilink provides 1.3 million flight seats during the peak season 2022 and New Year 2023. Garuda Indonesia Group itself projects that the season peak will take place from 18 December 2022 to 8 January 2023.

Therefore, various efforts to optimize flight capacity readiness are carried out in line with the projected increase in demand or demand for air transportation travel during the year-end holiday period.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra said the optimization of flight capacity consisted of 503,407 flight seats for domestic routes and 116,267 flight seats for the International route to be served by Garuda Indonesia.

As for Citilink, said Irfan, at least 684.682 flight seats for domestic routes and 34.560 flight seats for international routes were prepared.

The availability of flight seats during the peak season for the Christmas and New Year season is also supported by additional frequency measures and the operation of large aircraft carried out by Garuda Indonesia Group on a number of flight routes that have the potential for high passenger demand growth.

Irfan revealed that the peak season period for this year's Christmas and New Year's season is an important marker along with the growing air transportation industry being accelerated in maximizing the recovery phase of its performance.

"With the high enthusiasm of the community to travel at the end of the year during the transition period of this pandemic, of course, it will be a momentum in itself that we will always optimize by ensuring the need for accessibility of safe and comfortable flight services for people who will have good mobility," he said in an official statement, Friday, December 16.

Throughout December 2022, said Irfan, Garuda Indonesia Group projects to operate at least 2,015 flight frequencies per week, growing by around 20.7 percent compared to last November 2022 as many as 1,670 flight frequencies per week.

Of course, this number will continue to move dynamically in line with the trend of people traveling using air transportation at the end of this year.

Irfan hopes that the increase in flight service capacity during the peak season for Christmas and New Year this time can support the acceleration of national tourism recovery and make a positive contribution to the national economy.

"And also support the company's focus on maximizing profitability through the development of domestic and international flight networks," he said.

Irfan emphasized that ahead of this season's peak period, the Garuda Indonesia Group will continue to maximize its overall operational readiness by ensuring the optimization of security or safety aspects, fleet maintenance and flight support service infrastructure from pre flight to post flight.

"We at the Garuda Indonesia Group are trying to maximize this momentum not only by ensuring optimal flight operational readiness, but also maintaining the community's need for flight service accessibility which can meet their mobility needs during this pandemic transition period to the maximum through the excellent service we provide," concluded Irfan.
