JAKARTA - PT Royaltama Mulia Kencana (RMUK) agreed to work on 2.5 million tons of coal owned by PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA). The subsidiary of PT RMK Energy Tbk (RMKE) is also committed to increasing its construction to 1 million tons annually starting in 2023.
RMKE President Director Tony Saputra said, through this memorandum of understanding, the RMKE Group will also build and maintain hauling roads starting from PTBA mines, providing coal logistics services from loading and unloading of train transport, stockpile services, loading barges/barge to transportation to mother vestel.
The collaboration between RMKE and PTBA can perfect the synergy between the two parties together with PT KAI in implementing seamless coal transportation in South Sumatra. With RMKE logistics service solutions that are integrated with the railway line owned by PT KAI, PTBA can optimize its abundant coal sources so that this collaboration has mutual benefits for all three entities," he said in his remarks in Jakarta, Friday, December 16.
Tony also explained that this collaboration will be implemented in April 2023. With a transportation volume of 2.5 million tons by 2023, he believes he can meet the target.
"It will start April 2023 and there will be a few months and we are sure we can catch up to a minimum of 2 million tons," he continued.
RMKE Operations Director William Saputra also said that the synergy with PTBA and PT KAI which are currently running well can accommodate RMKE to increase the volume of logistics services by 70 percent and coal sales by 2.5 times in 2026 when compared to this year's target.
Meanwhile, Bukit Asam President Director Arsal Ismail said, currently, PTBA is also working with PT KAI to develop Tanjung Enim-Keramasan coal transportation with a capacity of 20 million tons per year. This line is planned to operate in the fourth quarter of 2024.
In addition, coal transportation to the Perajen Pier is also developed with a carrying capacity of 20 million tons per year and is planned to operate in the third quarter of 2026.
