YOGYAKARTA Natural resources (SDA) owned by Indonesia have been needed by many countries in the world. In fact, there are several countries that depend on Indonesian natural resources, many of which are known as superpowers.

This was also revealed by President Jokowi. He said that many state leaders made phone calls to him when stopping coal exports and CPOs.

"Actually, I have checked several times, who depends on us, it turns out that there are a lot. As soon as we stop the coal for only two weeks, there are a lot of heads of state who call me, the prime minister, the president. Indonesia has been a country that has abundant resources ranging from gold, coal, nickel, CPO, and so on. This then made a number of countries feel dependent on Indonesia. Some countries that depend on Indonesia are as follows.

Did you know that China is the country with the largest coal consumer in the world? Data from Trade Map shows that in 2021 the country's dependence on Indonesian coal products will reach 22.7 billion US dollars or equivalent to IDR 349.80 trillion.

Not only coal, China also needs Indonesian iron ore with a value of IDR 201.70 trillion, CPO worth IDR 103.16 trillion, copper IDR 149.63 billion, and nickel products reaching IDR 3.69 trillion.

Apart from China, the United States is also a country that depends on natural resources from Indonesia. America is recorded to have imported from Indonesia in the form of rubber products, which according to Trade Map 2021 data amounted to USD 2.4 billion or approximately IDR 36.88 trillion.

In addition to rubber, America also needs a CPO from Indonesia, which in 2021 has a value of 2.1 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp32.27 trillion.

Several natural products from Indonesia sent to America, such as wood products worth Rp. 15.36 trillion, fishery products whose value is equivalent to Rp. 21.51 billion.

Japan is also an importer of natural products from Indonesia whose value is quite large, especially in the food sector. In September 2022, Japanese imports from Indonesia reached 2.10 billion US dollars. For this reason, Japan is the third country as the largest export destination country after China and the United States.

From data held by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), in January-September 2022, Japanese non-oil and gas exports reached 2.09 billion US dollars or equivalent to Rp32.09 trillion. Then the value of Japanese oil and gas exports touched the figure of 51.4 million US dollars or reached Rp789.63 billion.
