Ended December 7, 46 Companies Opened 1,318 Lowons On The Surabaya Working Exchange

The job fair held by the Surabaya City Government, East Java, at the Convention Hall at Jalan Arif Rahman Hakim, on December 6-7, 2022, provides 1,318 job vacancies from 46 companies.

"This workforce is the second time we have held it in 2022. The first is held at the Surabaya Youth Center or Square and the second is this time," said Head of the Surabaya City Industry and Manpower Office (Disperinaker) Achmad Zaini, quoted by Antara, Sunday 4 December.

According to him, this job exchange was held by the Surabaya City Government in collaboration with Dharma Wanita Persatuan Kota Surabaya, UHW Perbanas, Apsilangga and 46 companies.

The main goal of this job exchange, he continued, is to provide job opportunities for Surabaya residents, so that the unemployment rate can continue to be reduced, even though currently the open unemployment rate in Surabaya has dropped dramatically.

He also ensured that in the event there would also be personality tests, talks and career counseling driven by Perbanas and Apsilangga, so that applicants and residents of the city of Surabaya could consult about their talents and interests, as well as their strengths and weaknesses, until finally they were suitable to work in and out in what field.

"This work course and career counseling are only reserved for Surabaya residents. So, I beg all Surabaya residents to take advantage of this opportunity, let's register and come to the event," he said.

Zaini also explained that the registration of the work market can be done starting a few days ago and continues to open until the D day. This is because registration must go through all applications, so that residents can register from online or can also come directly to the event location.

"The registration can directly scan the barcode that we have distributed. Later there will be registration guidelines as well as companies that open vacancies as well as requirements that must be completed. So, we make it easier for applicants to register," he said.

He also advised applicants to register from now on and there is no need to wait for the job exchange event to be held. Because, he said, if you just register at the work exchange location, it could take a long time to be there, because you have to fill in some data and curriculum vitae in the application.

"So, if we can give advice, it's better to register from now on, so that later at the Convention Hall it can be short. If you have registered from now on, then later at the Convention Hall you can go directly to companies that are proposed or in demand, so it can be faster," he said.

According to him, the job exchange is actually to bring together applicants and companies that are in demand or those that have been proposed. Therefore, on December 6 and 7, it is very likely that these companies will immediately conduct an interview process for applicants.

"If you have applied from now on, then at the Convention Hall you just have to check the data that has been sent, then interviewed by the company's HRD," said Zaini.

In addition, Zaini also explained that his party deliberately cooperated with the Women's Dharma Surabaya Association because it was a collection of mothers. The municipal government, he continued, wanted the mother not only to take her children to education, more than that the city government wanted the mothers to be able to take their children to work.

"Let's take advantage of this rare opportunity. Surabaya residents who are still unemployed can register and come directly to the Convention Hall. Hopefully later there will be a suitable company that can work directly, so that unemployment in Surabaya can be reduced," he said.
