Prepare HR For IKN As Smart City, Ministry Of PUPR Sends 25 People Training In South Korea

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the preparation of reliable and competent human resources (HR) in the development of the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago is a priority of the Ministry of PUPR.

Basuki encouraged the younger generation, especially the PUPR Youth Generation, to take the opportunity to learn to improve the competence of the construction sector in IKN development.

"Once again, IKN for the Young Generation of PUPR is an opportunity, both technical and non-technical. Technical because we are building infrastructure with new technology. Young people take advantage of this IKN as a training ground, you must start to be interested from planning," said Basuki in his statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, November 30.

The development of IKN, he continued, requires competent human resources, who understand the basic principles of building a smart city, including having a sharp analysis to think about solving problems in the development of smart cities.

"The capital city of the archipelago is designed to become a future city, whatever the term forest city or smart city. It means a city for the younger generation, so take advantage of this opportunity," said Basuki.

Basuki asked the PUPR Youth Generation to take the essence and scientific basis of implementing smart cities to be implemented in the development of IKN Nusantara in East Kalimantan.

"We have prepared 25 people who were training in South Korea yesterday. There (South Korea) is building an eco delta smart city in Busan. For those who participate in training, please spread their knowledge from Korea, so that everyone can know. So this IKN is an opportunity for the younger generation to develop themselves for engineers and non-engineerers," he said.

Previously, President Joko Widodo said that the government had started infrastructure development in the core area of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN) which includes government buildings such as ministries as well as the presidential palace and vice president.
