Kemendag: Policy On The Ratio Of CPO Export Rights Remains Unchanged

JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) Director General of Foreign Trade Didi Sumedi emphasized that currently the ratio of the export rights quota for crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative products has not changed.

Didi emphasized that the provision remains eight times the amount of validation results for the implementation of domestic market obligation (DMO) for CPO and/or cooking oil reported through the information system of bulk cooking oil (Simirah).

Didi made this statement to ensure that the policy has not changed at all, which remains 1:8.

The government has no plans to make changes to 1:9 or other changes.

"Currently, the ratio of CPO export rights and derivative products is eight times from DMO CPO and/or cooking oil. The government has not planned to make changes to the policy in the near future by looking at the condition of the availability of cooking oil in the domestic market which is still sufficient with a stable and affordable price level by the community," said Didi, in Jakarta, quoted Monday, November 28.

"Other information outside the provisions is hoax and is not true," continued Didi.

The regulation is also regulated in the Decree of the Director General of Foreign Trade Number 18 of 2022 concerning the Implementation of the Pengali Ratio as the Stipulation of Export Rights for Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil which came into effect on November 1, 2022.

The regulation states that the CPO export rights quota ratio and its derivative products are currently valid eight times the amount of validation results for the implementation of DMO for CPO and/or cooking oil reported through Simirah, as the basis for determining the Export Rights of Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Oil, Refiled, Bleached, And Deodorized Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil.

The decision of the Director General of Foreign Trade Number 18 of 2022 is the implementing rule of the Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 49 of 2022 concerning Governance of the People's Fried Oil Program and Regulation of the Minister of Trade Number 50 of 2022 concerning Export Provisions for Crude Palm Oil, Refined, Bleached, Refiled, and Deodorized Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil.

Furthermore, Didi emphasized, if there is a change in the rules, the Ministry of Trade will definitely officially inform.

"For that, reconfirm the source of the information and check the truth of the information," concluded Didi.
