JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry continues to strive to improve the competitiveness of cosmetic small and medium industries (IKM) through various programs, one of which is through the restructuring of machinery and equipment.
Director of Industry for Small and Medium Industries, Chemical, Sandang, and Crafts of the Ministry of Industry, Ni Nyoman Ambareny, said that the restructuring of machinery and equipment is a program that is of interest to cosmetic IKM players.
"So this year is the largest from cosmetics. IKM is cosmetics that utilize this restructuring," said Ambareny in a discussion at the 2022 Cosmetic Day activity in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, November 26.
Ambareny said that the restructuring of machinery and equipment was in great demand by cosmetic IKM players because in the program his party provided discounts.
In the program, the Ministry of Industry facilitates the provision of replacement money or reimbursement for cosmetic IKM actors who buy machinery or equipment for production.
Ambareny said that his party will provide a reimbursement of 40 percent for cosmetic IKM who buy machines or equipment from within the country.
Meanwhile, IKMs who buy machinery or equipment from abroad will be given a reimbursement of 25 percent.
To participate in the program, IKM actors must meet a number of requirements, such as having a business identification number (NIB) and a taxpayer's principal number (NPWP). The application submission will later be uploaded to the Ministry of Industry's National Industrial Information System (SIINAs).
Ambareny said the machine purchased must be in a new condition and has been installed in the factory or production location. Later, there will be a verification team that will directly check the accuracy of the data entered by the applicant.
"Later on, the Indonesian Surveyor team will check whether the machine or equipment purchased is new or not, because we have some old machine experiences but are painted like new. Now that must be visited in the field, must be inspected," he said.
Ambareny said that this year his party has budgeted IDR 5 billion for the program.
In addition to restructuring machinery and equipment, his party also has a free assistance program for providing machinery and equipment to SMEs.
However, there are a number of requirements that must be met, such as submitting proposals to the Industry Office by the IKM group.
"This is a bit difficult because you have to submit a proposal to us through the local Industry Service with a group. So together with a minimum of 5 IKM, we can provide free equipment machines," he said.
