The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Launched A Team To Help Earthquake-affected Residents In Cianjur

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) dispatched a team to help evacuate and recover in areas affected by the earthquake in Cianjur, West Java.

Head of the Communication, Public Information Service, and Cooperation Bureau of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Agung Pribadi said the Cianjur earthquake had caused disruption of electricity supply in three locations, namely, the working area of PT PLN (Persero) West Java Distribution Main Unit, Cianjur Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) and Cianjur City Customer Service Unit, ULP Cipanas and ULP Cimande.

"The electricity inspector of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources together with the PT PLN (Persero) team have also restored electrical conditions while still paying attention to security conditions in the field. Currently, the electricity system of the earthquake-affected areas has recovered 100 percent," he told the media, Thursday, November 24.

Previously, on Tuesday, November 22 at 23.05 WIB, 1,844 distribution substations and 21 auctioners who had previously experienced disruption had returned to normal for less than 34 hours.

Electric supply to 326,028 customers has also returned to normal.

Just like PLN, the distribution of fuel and LPG has also returned to normal.

"The Padalarang Fuel Terminal remains operating normally, there are no significant disturbances," added Agung.

There are 4 gas stations that have been transferred from the IT Jakarta Group due to landslides in the Cijedil and Cugendang areas, Pertashop conditions are also reported to be safe, Elpiji Bulk Filling and Transportation Station (SPPBE) is in relatively safe condition (only 1 SPPBE was affected by damage to the barrier walls and diversion to other SPPBEs).

In addition to diverting supplies to avoid landslides, PT Pertamina (Persero) also collaborated with the Cianjur Regency BPBD by providing Bright Gas for Public Kitchen, Opening of Pertamina Care Post and 3 motorcycle units at 34,43204 (Pandebong) gas stations, 2 operators from 34,16709 Tugu gas stations to 34,43207 Ciherang gas stations.

The ESDM Disaster Preparedness Team deployed also consisted of rescue, doctors, paramediks, and logistics by bringing their equipment.

"According to the direction of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources to assist all affected victims without discrimination. The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources also asked the Geological Agency to contribute to helping mitigate geological disasters," said Acting Head of the Geological Agency of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Muhammad Wafid.

Currently, 5 companies have joined the Disaster Preparedness ESDM Main Command Post, namely, PT. PPA (Men of Perkasa Abadi), PT. AMI (Adaro Mineral Indonesia), PT. Antam, PT. PAMA, PT. Semen Padang and also the West Java Province Mining Inspector. Various other ESDM sector companies are also ready to deploy their teams to join the Disaster Preparedness ESDM team.

The number of Disaster Alert Team personnel who are already at the location is 40 people, consisting of 19 rescue and rescue teams, 8 personnel logistics, health (doctors, paramedik) 6 personnel, 4 personnel Mine Inspectors and others (security, operators) as many as 3 personnel.

The Disaster Preparedness ESDM team comes from BUMN, companies and associations in the ESDM sector who are ready to be deployed at all times quickly and on target.

The team consists of medical, survey, rescue, health, logistics and reconstruction fields.

The Disaster Preparedness ESDM team has complete supporting equipment, both rescue, medical, logistics, and post-disaster reconstruction teams.
