JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) noted that until November 2022 the Investment Planning and Spatial Planning Task Force had revoked 1,981 Mining Business Permits (IUP).

The Daily Executive of the Director General of Mineral and Coal at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Idris Sihite, said that this number was an accumulation for 11 months.

"Following up with the Investment Planning and Planning Task Force, the target for the IUP to be revoked is 2,078 permits based on the Work Plan and Expenditure Budget (RKAB) and until the period from February 2 to November 2022, 1981 IUPs have been revoked, with details of 1680 mineral IUPs and 301 coal," he said at a Hearing Meeting (RDP) with Commission VII DPR, quoted on Thursday, November 24.

The number of companies that have clarified or objected to the revocation of the IUP until November 2022 is 959 companies with details of mineral IUPs as many as 792 and 167 coal.

"Until now, several evaluation and discussion processes have been carried out in 3 batches," said Idris.

In the first batch, 130 IUPs objected.

Of the 130 IUPs, 71 of them have been committed to solving the problem, 61 IUP Decrees have been reactivated, 28 IUPs have been active, and 6 IUPs are submitting applications for RKAB approval.

"The second batch is 315 IUPs who object, 203 have signed a commitment to solve the problem, 137 have issued an activation decree, 50 have been active again and 2 IUPs are submitting RKAB applications," continued Idris.

Meanwhile, in the third batch, 514 companies have filed objections after evaluation and clarification and as many as 203 IUPs are committed to solving problems.
