PT PLN (Persero) reported that the total expenditure for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) until November 20, 2022 has reached IDR 8.4 trillion.

Based on PLN's internal study, at least 5 percent of PLN's capital expenditure is absorbed for MSMEs directly and indirectly.

There are at least 4,356 MSMEs from various sectors under the manufacturer involved and contributing to the PLN supply chain.

"Hopefully, how is the equitable distribution of the national economy occurs. Our budget is absorbed for small-scale entrepreneurs, and thank God the contribution is almost 5 percent," said PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo in Jakarta, Wednesday, November 23.

Meanwhile, as support for the national industry, until November 20, 2022, PLN has contributed to domestic spending (GDP) of IDR 201 trillion, out of total expenditure of IDR 288.4 trillion.

Darmawan explained that this step is a commitment to equal distribution of the national economy and is also part of the spirit to encourage the use of the Domestic Content Level (TKDN).

This TKDN level continues to increase from year to year where in 2019 it is 36.8 percent or Rp. 34.1 trillion, in 2020 it is 40.1 percent or Rp. 18.9 trillion and in 2021 it is 48.8 percent or Rp. 38.9 trillion.

Darmawan explained that PLN's capital expenditure contribution was used for domestic product spending of 84 percent, involving approximately 9,000 vendors.

"We are committed to continuing to optimize the involvement of national companies (contractor and manufacturing services) in new generation and technology projects. We also encourage domestic industries to collaborate with foreign technology," Darmawan concluded.
