JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) is completing construction work for Construction Workers (HPK) in the capital city of Nusantara, East Kalimantan, this year.

The Director General of Housing at the Ministry of PUPR, Iwan Suprijanto, said that the construction of construction workers in the form of flats (Rusun) of around 567 billion is targeted for completion in early 2023.

"We continue to monitor and accelerate the construction of Construction Workers Residential at IKN," said Iwan in a written statement, Thursday, November 17.

According to Iwan, the construction of this cellphone will be completed for 145 days.

The construction itself has started since August 29, 2022, and is targeted for completion on January 20, 2023, with the implementing contractor being PT Wijaya Karya Gedung and PT Adhi Karya (Persero).

In the construction of Construction Workers, said Iwan, the Ministry of PUPR implemented about three development criteria with the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) or Environment, Social and Governance (LST).

"The first is environmental or environmental by implementing lean construction and green construction, the second is social or social, aiming to provide more appropriate facilities for construction workers who build IKN. The third is governance or corporate governance, namely building construction governance that is neater, healthier, efficient, and effective," he explained.

He said the use of modular construction technology in the construction of HPK is one of the government's efforts to achieve ESG criteria and become a prototype lean, as well as a green construction in Indonesia.

"At least 368 workers are involved. We also implement the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK) in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of PUPR Number 10 of 2021 so that work in the field runs according to plan and is safe from the construction side," he concluded.
